At the invitation of businessman Mr. Ali Mahmoud El Abdallah, President of the Lebanese-Chinese Business Association (LCBA), a delegation from the Chinese Embassy in Lebanon visited the Akkar region.
The delegation included H.E. Ms. Zhang Fengling, Economic and Commercial Counselor at the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Fan Xi, and Ms. Ma Xhia, accompanied by Ms. Nada Al Abdallah and Ms. Hanaa Al Abdallah.
The visit began at the Tekrit Municipality in Akkar, where the delegation was received by Mayor Dr. Hatem Al Ali, along with members of the municipal council and notable figures from civil society.

During the meeting, the mayor highlighted the difficult living conditions and lack of infrastructure and health services in Tekrit, pointing out that industrial and development projects could significantly boost the local economy and revitalize a region that has long suffered from deprivation and stagnation.
He emphasized the importance of cooperation to revive the area, meet residents’ basic needs, and enable them to live securely and remain in their hometowns—contributing to balanced regional development and reducing migration from rural villages to urban centers.
Dr. Al Ali expressed his gratitude to the Chinese delegation for visiting the region.
The delegation then proceeded to visit the residence of Mr. Ali Mahmoud Al Abdallah, where they were warmly received by family members and community leaders.

Afterward, the delegation continued to the Tekrit Technical Institute (Al-Joumeh, Akkar), where they were welcomed by Director Mr. Ziad Al Saan, his spouse, and heads of departments Mr. Nader Nader and Mr. Joseph Nader, along with the institute’s faculty.
Mr. Al Saan welcomed the delegation and praised Mr. El Abdallah’s continuous efforts and dedication to supporting both the institute and his hometown of Tekrit. He reaffirmed the ongoing cooperation between the municipality, the local community, and the technical education sector to improve vocational training in the region.
The delegation toured the institute’s facilities and laboratories, learning about its various specializations. A meeting was held between the delegation, the director, and department heads to discuss the institute’s educational programs and explore ways to equip the institute with modern machinery and laboratory equipment.
Given China’s leading global role in industrial and technological advancement, such cooperation was viewed as a valuable opportunity to enhance the technical skills and training quality of Lebanese students.
Mr. Al Saan also provided a detailed presentation about the institute’s role in developing the region, noting that it is the only technical school in the area, serving students from multiple neighboring villages and striving to produce highly skilled and qualified graduates.
At the end of the visit, Ms. Zhang Fengling thanked the director for the warm reception and promised to convey a report to Chinese officials to explore possible ways for the embassy to support the institute’s educational mission.
The day concluded with a luncheon hosted by Mr. Ali El Abdallah in honor of the delegation at Al-Sayyad Restaurant in Bino, Akkar.
