At the invitation of the President of the Lebanese-Chinese Business Association (LCBA), Mr. Ali Mahmoud El Abdallah, a delegation from the Chinese Embassy, consisting of the Chargé d’Affaires and Political Counselor, Mr. Han Jing, the Political Section officer, Ms. Najwa Shen Huizhen, and the Cultural Attaché, Mr. Chen Zhonglin, visited the city of Tripoli. Mr. Al Abdallah organized several meetings for the delegation.

The visit began at the Tripoli and North Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, where the delegation was received by Board Member Mr. John Al-Sayed and several advisors. They welcomed the delegation and Mr. Al Abdallah, praising his active role in strengthening relations between the two peoples and emphasizing the importance of Lebanese–Chinese cooperation in all fields, particularly benefiting from China’s successful industrial, technical, artistic, and production experiences. In turn, the political and cultural attachés commended the warm reception and emphasized the importance of consolidating relations between the two countries.

 

The meeting concluded with an invitation from the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture in Tripoli and the North for a luncheon in honor of the Chinese delegation at the Silver Beach restaurant.

 

 

Afterwards, the delegation visited the Tripoli Municipality, where they were received by Mayor Dr. Nader Al Ghazal, who welcomed the Chinese delegation and LCBA President Mr. Ali El Abdallah. He highlighted the relationship between Tripoli and the People’s Republic of China, citing China’s role in constructing the Tripoli Port and providing medical equipment to Orange Nasso Hospital. This cooperation demonstrates China’s ongoing interest in Tripoli. Dr. Al Ghazal invited the delegation to visit Tripoli’s archaeological and tourist sites, while President Jiang invited Dr. Al Ghazal to visit China to exchange expertise between the two countries.

 

 


 

 

 

Following this, the cultural delegation, led by Mr. Chen Zhonglin, accompanied by LCBA Vice President Dr. Naji Bejjani and lawyer Ms. Samah Zeilaa, toured Tripoli’s cultural and educational centers.

Meanwhile, the political delegation, Mr. Han Jing and Ms. Najwa, together with Mr. Ali El Abdallah, visited political events in Tripoli. They met with H.E. Minister Faisal Karami at his residence. During the meeting, Minister Karami welcomed the Chinese delegation and discussed in detail the political and social matters of Tripoli. He emphasized the need for cooperation and communication between Lebanese and Chinese youth and requested Chinese government support for the city’s development. The political attaché invited Minister Karami to visit the Chinese Embassy in Beirut to meet the Ambassador and discuss ways to develop bilateral relations. He noted China’s humanitarian approach toward Arab issues and confirmed that China is seriously considering providing military assistance to the Lebanese Army. Minister Karami expressed hope that such aid would be unconditional to help Lebanon overcome its political and security crises. The meeting also addressed the Rashid Karami Exhibition, hoping for Chinese support to reopen it.

 

 

The delegation also visited the Safadi Foundation, where they were received by Minister Muhammad Safadi’s representative, Mr. Ahmad Safadi, and the General Manager of the Safadi Foundation, Mr. Riyad Alameddine. The meeting was very cordial, discussing cultural and humanitarian issues between the two countries. They emphasized the need for cultural cooperation with the Chinese Embassy. Mr. Ahmad Safadi also requested the Embassy’s attention to the Tripoli International Fair, and the political counselor assured that he would make every effort to support the fair’s reopening.

 

 

 

The tour continued with a visit to H.E. Minister Samir Al Jisr at his residence, who welcomed the Chinese delegation and thanked them for their assistance to Tripoli Governmental Hospital and Tripoli Port. The discussion included the city’s main development needs. Minister Al Jisr detailed Tripoli’s history, civilization, and tourist facilities. The political attaché emphasized the importance of cultural exchange between the two countries and mentioned a meeting between the Chinese Communist Party and the Future Movement, attended by Secretary-General Mr. Ahmad Hariri and Secretary Mr. Mukhtar Haidar. They also discussed Chinese government aid to Lebanon. LCBA President Mr. Ali El Abdallah stressed the need to develop the city and thanked Minister Al Jisr for his warm reception. The visit concluded with the political attaché inviting Minister Al Jisr to the Chinese Embassy in Beirut to discuss further cooperation.

 

 

 

The final stop was the Azm and Saada Association, where they were received by the General Director, Dr. Abdel Ilah Miqati. The delegation toured the association’s departments, including health centers, outpatient clinics, hospitals, laboratories, and handicraft centers. Both parties discussed humanitarian and social issues concerning both countries. The political attaché praised the significant role of women in Tripoli society and acknowledged Mr. Ali El Abdallah’s efforts in bridging the two countries. The visit concluded with souvenir gifts from the association to the Chinese delegation, including Lebanese soap, while emphasizing the importance of ongoing communication.

 

The Tripoli day ended with a luncheon hosted by the President of the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, Mr. Tawfiq Deboussi, in honor of the visiting Chinese delegation at the Silver Beach restaurant.

 


Cultural Delegation Visit

The cultural delegation’s program included:

  • Noufal Palace and Public Library under Tripoli Municipality: The delegation met the palace official, toured the palace and library, and the cultural attaché presented symbolic gifts of books in Chinese.

  • Azm Educational Complex: Received by Dr. Abdel Ilah Miqati, the delegation toured the complex, which focuses on scientific research, human development, and innovation. They met the school director, Ms. Hiba Nashabi, who guided them through the school’s sections and activities.

  • Safadi Center: Meeting with Mr. Riyad Alameddine, who provided detailed explanations of the center’s objectives.

  • Al-Manar University: Meeting with Dean Sami Manqara.

The tour concluded, followed by joining the luncheon.
